An Ideal Institution:
In order to motivate the students to show their best capabilities in academic and co-curricular activities, the following new things have been introduced:
a) Competitive tests: In order to inculcate a true sense of healthy competition among the students, “Competitive Test” in back-bone subjects like (English, Math’s, Science Subjects & Urdu) are conducted at the end of each month. The top scorers of each class are awarded with Prizes. This incentive has proved extremely useful and students have started to put in their best to gain top positions.
b) Advance Year Syllabus: The students are provided “Advance Year Syllabus”. It not only helps the students to prepare themselves well before time but assists the parents also as to see for themselves what has been taught and what is to be taught in the year.
c) Students Broad-Casting Program: To activate the intellectual and creative faculties of the students, Broad-Casting program has been introduced. Every class under the supervision of the class and subjects teachers, prepares short speeches and other items in rotation and present during assembly. This activity has brought revolutionary change among the students.
d) Class of the month competition: In order to assess the standard of the classes with respect to uniform, general cleanliness, maintenance of books, note books checking of copies and trend to use English language as mode of communication, senior teachers are detailed to visit the classes and submit the report of prescribed forms. Which ever class excels others, is awarded “Honour Flag” and all the students salute to it for its best performance. The class teacher whose class is declared as the “Class of the Year” at the end of academic session is issued with letter of appreciation and given monetary award as well.
e) House-wise Distribution Of Students: The students of each class are divided into house-wise groups namely Jinnah House, Iqbal House and Qadir House. In each activity, there is a healthy, house-wise competition among the students. Each student strives hard for his/her house. This is not a restricted to academic activity only, but is open to all the fields. The house which excels others is awarded prizes, flag of honour, trophies for (Girls & Boys).
f) Sports: Sports are now regarded as an essential part of a full and happy life. It not only keeps a man healthy, wealthy and wise but inculcates an excellent state of discipline, comradeship and a sense of competition in sportsmen. In order to promote games and sports following steps have been taken:
i) House-wise school competitions in Cricket, Football, Hockey & athletics are arranged.
ii) The students are encouraged to take part in High School contests at District level.
iii) Sports Day has also been established now to the students once a month in the institution for the welfare of student’s health.
g) Guidance & Counseling Periods: Special days are allocated for guidance and counseling to the students. The students from the onwards are given guidance by the teachers in career selection. The professional colleges are contacted in this respect and the students are guided accordingly.
h) Term-wise institute Bulletin: A term-wise “School Bulletin” reflecting different activities, conducted in each term will be published.
i) Student of the Year Award: A student which winds maximum “Student of the Month” contests in a session, will be awarded “Class Trophy” and the class teacher of that particular section will also be awarded “Class Teacher Trophy” on the Parents Day.
j) Khwaza Khela Magazine: “A magazine comprising English, Urdu and Pashto sections will be published once in a year under the able guidance of the teachers.” This magazine will be published (INSHALLAH) in the next coming year. It will activate the intellectual and creative faculties of the students and the staff of these prestigious institutions.
k) Shield of Honour: In order to motivate the students to show their best capabilities in academic and co-curricular act, Trophies are awarded to them according to their performance. But “Shield of Honour” is awarded to the student who get Top position in the inter level.
l) Flags: During the Assembly session three types of flags are hoisted up on their respective masts. These are:
- National Flag
- School Flag
- Champion’s House Flag
Religion and Ideology:
Islamiat is a compulsory subject for Muslims. The essentials of Islam are taught in the classrooms,. Religious education in the classroom in supplemented by prayers in the nearer mosque to School, for which provision is made in the institute routine. The morning assembly begins with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by translation in Urdu. In spare time, the school’s Khateeb recites for Holy Quran to those students who cannot recite the Holy Book. Regular inter-house qirat competitions and naat khwani competitions are held to provide incentive to the students to learn and enhance their skill in qirat and naat khwani. Regular talks and sermons are arranged on Islamic values and Ideology of Pakistan, in order to make them good human beings and useful patriotic citizens of Pakistan.
Personal File:
The Institution maintains the academic file of each student throughout his/her stay. All his acts, omissions are recorded round the year regularly the performance of each student is passed on the annual assessments as recorded in personal file.
Progress Reports:
Every effort is made to keep parents well informed of the progress of their sons at Govt. Higher Secondary School Khwaza Khela. There are regular parent’s Day each year and parents are urged to attend and discuss any concerns they may have over academics and others matters.
Reporting System:
Formal examinations are held in a session, (According to yearly Schedule). Institute Reports are sent to parents after each examination. In addition termly progress reports are also sent to parent’s .It is proposed to introduce a new system of continuous assessment, marks orders, tutorials and reports. This should ensure early and effective monitoring of each pupil’s work and progress.
